As the success of Coronation Street continues to grow, we are looking for a Production Secretary to join our busy, hard working team, ensuring that every single one of our episodes is top quality entertainment.

This role is to help facilitate the smooth running of the production working in both the Production Office and Assistant Directors office on a rotational basis. Reporting to the Production Manager you will work closely with our production team and be responsible for the printing, scanning and distribution of various production documents including but not limited to continuity reports, call sheets, schedules, risk assessments and artiste scripts.

You will update production information boards with latest schedules, memos, cast and crew information and give weekly calls to the cast. This is a very fast paced, high pressured environment so a flexible, can-do attitude is required to deal with the very many varied duties and challenges you will face on a daily basis.

As our Production Secretary you will work closely with our Production Co-ordinators providing cover as required, you will need a good eye for detail, excellent organisational and communication skills and the ability to liaise with others throughout the Coronation Street family including crew and cast. IT skills are essential. Experience of working in a Production Office environment as a Production Secretary is desirable.

Coronation Street Job Vacancies: Art Directors

Coronation Street have an amazing opportunity for two Art Directors to join our busy, creative Art Department to deliver all design requirements to the satisfaction of the Production Designer and Director, take responsibility for a Unit and the Design team assigned to it, and oversee episodes both in prep and on shoots simultaneously.

You will facilitate the Production Designer’s creative vision for all the sets and locations and be a key player in creating and maintaining Coronation Street’s visual ident. We will look to you to read and undertake an early break down of scripts anticipating any problems/issues and addressing these with the relevant departments to find solutions and resolving any issues including crewing & scheduling requirements.

You will prepare a future block whilst overseeing the smooth running of the current shooting episodes, work across the shoot and take sole creative responsibility for the design elements of the day’s filming which requires a keen eye for detail, speedy decision-making, problem-solving and time management.

Our Art Directors will be creative, organised and will possess strong communication skills. You will work alongside other Art Directors and liaise with cast and crew across a wide range of departments. You must demonstrate the understanding of continuity and have high levels of creative ability. You will have a proven track record of working within TV/film Drama Design environment and have knowledge of the requirements of the relevant Health & Safety legislation. Candidates must be able to manage a budget & oversee spends for their allocated blocks.

A Qualification / Certification in Fine Art, Theatre, Architecture, Interior or 3D design is desirable, and you must be highly experienced with a proven track record of working on TV drama in an Art Director/Designer/Standby capacity. Technical drawing skills are essential & the ability to oversee set builds. Graphics, Sketch up and CAD experience is also desirable.

This role can be required to work production hours which can be long and sometimes unsociable

Here at Coronation Street we are often on the lookout for Assistant Grips to support our busy Camera and Grips Department on a short-term freelance basis.

You will have worked on drama in this capacity and have a credible credit list and can demonstrate the responsibilities associated for the management of equipment, rigging/erecting and derigging of dollies together with other associated grip equipment in a safe, efficient and professional manner. You will have experience assisting with the organising and undertaking of transporting equipment from base to location therefore a driving licence is essential.

Please be aware that this is a physically demanding role and involves a considerable amount of manual handling.
